The short version. We don’t have an account system, we don’t know who you are, and your scan history stays on your phone. To check a link, we send the web address to a safety service — nothing else — and we don’t keep a record of it.
Your scan history, the codes you generate, your settings, and the cached results of previous checks. Deleting the app deletes all of it. You can clear it yourself any time in Settings.
When you scan a link, we send the web address to our safety check (Google Web Risk) so it can tell us if the address is known to be malicious. When you scan a product barcode, we send the barcode number to a product database to look up the name and price. These services receive nothing else — no device identifier, no location, no history.
The camera is used solely to decode codes, on your device. No image is saved, sent or retained. If you pick a photo, it is decoded on your device and then discarded.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device’s advertising identifier. On iOS we ask permission first; declining still shows ads, just less targeted ones. Buying the ad-free unlock stops all ad requests permanently. Ads are never shown on a safety result.
The one-off unlock is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details — only whether the purchase exists, so we can restore it.
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes we will update this page and note the date above.
